The exch­ange of data in a struc­tured XML format bet­ween dif­fe­rent IT sys­tems. In logi­stics, XML is often used to transfer infor­ma­tion about stock levels, orders and deli­veries in an effi­cient and stan­dar­dized way and to faci­li­tate inte­gra­tion bet­ween dif­fe­rent soft­ware solutions.
